Meet Torben Rahbek
Torben Rahbek has been an independent product safety consultant since 2006. He is the former head of the Danish Safety Technology Authority’s market surveillance and he was Denmark’s representative in the European regulatory cooperation.
Torben Rahbek has worked as an independent product safety consultant since 2006 and has a master degree in electrical engineering as well as a diploma in business administration (HD). He was head of the Danish Safety Technology Authority’s market surveillance and Denmark’s representative in the European regulatory cooperation before becoming an independent consultant.
Torben Rahbek has provided expert assistance to the European regulatory network PROSAFE, the European standardisation organisation CEN, the European Commission, as well as several projects outside the EU. He has also advised numerous Danish companies on product safet, CE-marking and import of products to the EU.
Torben Rahbek’s objectiveis to make it easier for companies to deliver good and compliant products to their customers without fearing financial losses due to recalls or regulatory requirements. In Denmark and across the EU.
Torben Rahbek has contributed to many types of tasks:
- CE-marking of electrical products, toys, machinery, firworks and other products
- Handling safety requirements for conumer products
- Establishing feasible procedures for handling legal requirements
- Risk assessment of products
- Analyses of electrical or safety-related issues
- Training in product safety and C-marking
- Workshops on market surveillance
- EU-funded projects on market surveillance authorities' control of products on the European market
